Cancer Research Funding & Gateway

Each year cancer affects the lives of so many people. Involving both those personally diagnosed with the disease, and their friends and family members, cancer profoundly impacts the lives of millions. Gateway for Cancer Research (Gateway) is dedicated to curing cancer and finding new treatments through the funding of patient-centered clinical studies. Donations to cancer research funding fuels us as we strive to deliver new and innovative treatment options for all cancer patients.

Dedicated to the Advancement of Cancer Research

Gateway is dedicated to the advancement of cancer research and works diligently to discover promising new treatment methods every day. Identifying and pursuing innovative clinical studies and progressive treatments that utilize cutting edge medical technologies and practices is our purpose. Driven by that purpose, our methodology for the advancement of cancer research includes:

  • Focusing on research which can have an impact on cancer patients immediately, offering results and options for those impacted by the disease today, not 5 - 10 years down the road.

  • Dedication to the funding of research solely, not outreach or education, to ensure a focused immediate impact on patients.

  • Encompassing the most innovative applications of conventional therapies and the best science-based complementary medicine.

  • Pursuing clinical based studies that are beyond the test tube phase and that are ready to make a significant impact on patients without employing the use of laboratory animals for research purposes.

  • Using 99% of all donations directly on research programs. Gateway is able to achieve this unprecedented level thanks to generous underwriting of daily operational expenses.

Help change the face of cancer now by donating to cancer research funding through Gateway. With 99 cents of each dollar going directly to phase I and phase II cancer research programs that are administered by some of the most talented cutting-edge researchers from around the world, we are committed to developing better treatment options for use today and working towards a cure for cancer tomorrow.

Lung Cancer Research Funds

Another important area of cancer research funding in which Gateway is active is lung cancer research. Lung cancer accounts for about 13% of all new cancers each year and is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among both men and women. With nearly 60% of people diagnosed with lung cancer dying within one year of their diagnosis, and nearly 75% dying within 2 years, lung cancer affects the lives of millions each year. Learn a little more about some of the lung cancer research funds made available through donations to Gateway.

Autologous Dendritic Cell Vaccines in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

This study is designed to evaluate the cellular level lung cancer vaccines. As the leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., a lung cancer vaccine would represent the most significant breakthrough in cancer treatment for the last 30 years and would serve as a major contribution to cancer patients worldwide.

Prolonging Survival in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer by a Phytomix

Designed to evaluate the benefits of potent herbs known to fight cancer. As the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women in the United States, non-small cell is the most common type of lung cancer, killing over 400,000 worldwide each year. Traditionally the treatment for this cancer is toxic to the patient and an average survival rate in these patients is 4-9 months. Through our lung cancer research funds, we hope that this more widely acceptable treatment will realize its potential to extend patients' lives significantly.

Myeloma Research

There are over 13,500 new cases of myeloma in the U.S. each year. In fact myeloma represents 20% of all blood cancers, and 1% of cancer types overall. With the help of generous supporters like you, Gateway is working to help improve the treatment options for those with this deadly and painful disease, and ultimately find a cure for this cancer through a variety of myeloma research grants, including these:

Gene Therapy for Patients with Multiple Myeloma

Serving as the foundation for developing effective immune gene therapy for patients with Myeloma cancer, a manuscript was published in the well-known and respected journal in oncologic hematology, the British Journal of Hematology..

Dexamethasone and 13-cis Retinoic Acid Therapy of Multiple Myeloma

Evaluating the effects of dexamethasone and retinoic acid, this study found that together they do inhibit melanoma cell growth. The important results of this myeloma research led to a four-institution trial for the further treatment of multiple myeloma, and the results were presented at the International Myeloma Workshop.
