Founder's Story
In 1991, Mr. Stephenson founded Cancer Treatment Research Foundation, which is now The Gateway for Cancer Research (Gateway). The organization is a not-for-profit corporation and public charity that was established to identify and pursue new and promising clinical studies and progressive treatments leveraging cutting edge medical technologies and practices.
President's Story
"My cancer experience transformed my life, surprisingly in positive ways. As a young woman, I was forced to redefine my life and empower myself to ensure that I received the treatment that I believed in. It has been my mission since to ensure that other patients-present and future-have options that I did not."
Patients' Stories
"At all times, I felt I was in good hands," explained Sonia. "I felt very comfortable with her [The Gateway-funded researcher Dr. Sally Arai]. I could sense that she was really listening to me, really taking into account... what I was experiencing."
